FCC UPCOMING EVENTS
* The West-Hawaii Vicariate will hold the first vicariate-wide celebration of the Feast Day of San Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino saint. The celebration will be held at the Makaeo Pavilion, Old Kona Airport on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. All the parishes in the vicariate will be participating -- Our Lady of Lourdes (Honokaa), Annunciation (Waimea), Sacred Heart (Kohala), St. Michael’s (Kailua-Kona) and St. John/Benedict (South Kona). This celebration, being organized by the Reverend Raymond Ellorin, will start with a procession at 6:00 p.m. followed by Mass and dinner as well as cultural entertainment. Each parish will participate in the preparation of food as well as the cultural entertainment and this is where the FCC will be heavily involved. All parishioners in the vicariate are invited to this celebration.
* The Diocesan Congress of Filipino Catholic Clubs (DCFCC), the umbrella organization for all Filipino Catholic clubs throughout the state, will holds its 61st Annual Convention at the King Kamehameha Hotel in November 18-20, 2011. This event is being hosted by the Hawaii Council of Filipino Catholic Clubs in collaboration with all of its four FCC units throughout the Big Island.
* Simbang Gabi - a Filipino tradition of nine-day novena of Masses to prepare for the Birthday of Christ. As in the past years, the St. Michael’s FCC will sponsor the masses that will be held from December 15th through the 23rd at the St. Michael’s Church at 6 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow at the end of each mass.
